I just bought the game and activated it (yes, online, with the code Amazon gives, but that’s pretty typical for games, isn’t it?) and it didn’t use Steam at all. Overall, it’s a cute, fun game. Very much like Diablo. Works perfectly on my i5 iMac, running Lion. Good range of difficulty levels depending on how casual or hardcore you want to play. Quests are fairly simple. Gameplay isn’t too complicated. Really like the pets. Fantastic deal at the price.
