(Video Game) Because there do not appear to be many reviews online for this I thought I would put my two cents in on this game. I picked this up becasue it was on sale and I love the show. Boy am I glad I did! GAMEPLAY: the game switches between a 3D roamer (to get from area to area) and a 2D sidescroller (when you are in a city/dungeon). Wandering the land of Ooh has never been so much fun and you will frequently run into random packs of monsters while walking from city to city (they appear as a black cloud you can try to avoid). Thus far (I am about 28% completed) it seems that the game consists of you running various errands for the citizens of Ooh. While some of the running can get tedious, I would have to say that clever dialogue/character interaction keep you interested. On the whole the game is also quite short (maybe played three hours and I am 28% complete) and a litte easy. STORY: If you are a fan of the show you will ove the off beat story consisting of the Ice King making a Princess out of garbage and then having F and J chase after him as he makes dungeons for them to enjoy (not because he is evil). This is not complex, but does involve fan favorites such as Pepermint Butler, Cinnamon Bun, LSP and others. RPG?: The game states that you gain levels, but this consists of “finding” leves in random chests that you can use to either speed yourself up, make your attack stronger, or give yourself more health. Quite basic. ACTION: This is not complicated, you have two different attacks (Fin’s punch/sword and then a ranged attack from Jake). As the game progresses Jake will also gain additional moves that will help you get to new areas. none of these are revoluationary or especially clever, but they help with the progression of the game. Overall 4/5 stars CONS: Sorry if this is a little confusing, it is my first review on amazon. At the end of the day, if you are a fan of the show and like games, you will likely enjoy this game. If you have never seen Adventrue time, this may not be your cup of tea and you might not feel as connected to the characters. (Video Game) This game is pleasantly challenging (though definitely not hard), has insanely amazing animation, catchy music, and the kind of humor that Adventure Time fans love so much.
