This was just delivered, and my kids eagerly ripped it open and were playing a few minutes later. Haven’t played with all the options yet (parent controls, playlist, etc) but so far we’re all lovin’ it. There are some classic songs (which I know Grandpa & Grandma will enjoy) plus a nice assortment of songs from Disney’s current tween shows. Several of the songs have the option of hearing the song in different languages – Squirrels in My Pants is even funnier in Swedish! Game itself is comparable to the other Just Dance shows we own – decent choreography (fun but not too challenging)

Full playlist:
Calling All the Monsters – A.N.T. Farm
This Is Me – Camp Rock
Hang in There, Baby – Good Luck Charlie
Hoedown Throwdown – Hannah Montana
We’re All in This Together – High School Musical
Hey, Jessie – Jessie
S.I.M.P. (Squirrels in my Pants) – Phineas & Ferb
Shake It Up – Shake It Up
Twist My Hips – Shake It Up
Everything is Not as it Seems – Wizards of Waverly Place
Ev’rybody Wants to Be A Cat – The Aristocats
Be our Guest – Beauty & The Beast
I Thought I Lost You – Bolt
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo – Cinderella
It’s A Small World – Disneyland Parks
That’s How You Know – Enchanted
The Bare Necessities – The Jungle Book
Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride – Lilo & Stitch
Under the Sea – The Little Mermaid
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – Mary Poppins
The Muppet Show Theme – The Muppet Show
Following The Leader – Peter Pan
I’ve Got A Dream – Tangled
Something That I Want – Tangled
Fly To Your Heart – Tinker Bell

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What’s this?)

I got this for my seven year old daughter- she loves any kind of dance game for the Wii, and we’re sort of nuts about Disney. We live close enough to the parks that we can go fairly often, so she’s grown up very familiar with everything Disney. Now that she’s school-age, she’s discovered Disney Channel, as well.

So, it was a no brainer- this was the game for her.

The game is very easy to figure out- insert the disc into your Wii, grab the Wiimote, select the song, and dance away. No dance mat or special accessories required. The first time my daughter tried it, she danced for over an hour before we had her take a little break- she would have played it for hours. And as soon as she could play the Wii again, she was back to the game. I have to admit, I much prefer her playing a fun dance game than one of the games where she sits and stares at the screen and mashes buttons.

I think the thing she loves most about this game is the songs- not only is there a huge variety (especially for a music game), but they are the *actual* Disney songs and TV show theme songs, sung by the original artists. Everything from Selena Gomez to “Under the Sea” to the theme song to “Hey Jessie” (whatever that is- my daughter knows it but I don’t…) to the music from the “It’s A Small World” ride at Disney World to the music from “Tangled”.

And it’s all the real music- no lip synching, no kids choruses, no “sound-a-like” singers. For some reason my daughter loves that the “real” songs are the ones she is dancing to. She’s never been much of a “kidz-bop” fan, so having the songs sung by the actual original performers makes the game more fun for her. And the songs are current- almost every song on the game is from a popular Disney movie or a current TV show on Disney channel.

This is a great game is you have an active child (or you’d like your child to be more active) and your family is full of Disney fans. Just make sure that *you* are a Disney fan, as well, because you are going to be hearing these songs a lot if you buy this for your kids. It’s an addictive game.

Good game; probably best for younger kids, November 1, 2012

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What’s this?)

In reviewing Just Dance: Disney Party I’m relying on feedback from my ten-year-old daughter, who is a veteran player of Just Dance 2 and 3 for the Wii. The Disney version of Just Dance includes 25 Disney songs from Disney classics like Mary Poppins and more recent popular shows like Phineas and Ferb and Hannah Montana. The songs have both star and sweat ratings. These aren’t explained anywhere in the documentation as far as I could see, but stars seems to refer to level of difficulty in terms of ability required and sweat droplets have to do with how much you’ve got to move. (So a song can require lots of movement but not a lot of skill.) The Disney version of Just Dance is made for a wide range of abilities and therefore should be accessible for younger children, which is appropriate. However, because there are only two songs that have a difficulty rating of three stars, older kids who know their Just Dance moves may not remain interested in this game for very long.

The dancing styles involved range from ballet-like movements to hip hop moves. The game includes the original versions of the songs, which are danced to by modern dancers superimposed over backgrounds that are appropriate to the songs.

The game includes on-screen lyrics. On our crumby TV these are a little hard to read but they would probably be fine on a crisper display. There’s also a parental section where parents can check to see what their kids are up to–what badges they’ve earned and what songs they’ve been dancing to. I can’t imagine ever wanting to do this, but maybe some parents would.

All in all, my daughter likes the game, but not as much as the more difficult versions she’s played. It’s probably best suited for younger kids and kids who haven’t already cut their teeth on other versions of Just Dance.
