Man, have I been waiting for a product like this for years! Aside from the small wait of transit for the product, it’s actually quite worth it. First Impressions: Mapping was quite easy with all online emulators, I was up and running within 1 minute. Start and select buttons have a nice rubbery feel to it If you want to play old school games on your PC, this is the controller to do it with! 31 of 34 people found the following review helpful Just like the 80′s, By = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Classic USB NES Controller for PC (Accessory) Works and feels great. Small hint for those using Windows 7, run your game program as administrator (by right cilcking on icon) to recognize the usb controller. 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful Disappointing, = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase(What’s this?) This review is from: Classic USB NES Controller for PC (Accessory) There’s two games you should try with any new controller: Super Mario Bros. to test the buttons, and Legend of Zelda to test the D-pad. Sadly, this controller failed both tests. This controller feels very much like the original, until you try to play a game with it. Mine has a very unresponsive buttons, which is typical of inexpensive controllers. When pressing a button, you get the tactile feedback of the button going down, but then have to press harder to actually have the press register. This results in about half of my button presses not registering, since I usually only press hard enough to make the button actually go down. This makes jumping and fireballs in Super Mario Bros. really annoying. Add to this a mediocre D-pad. Again, typical of cheap controllers, the diagonals are either much too sensitive or much too difficult to press, which makes precise movements in all 8 directions impossible. Mine has an almost impossible to press upper-right diagonal, and an overly sensitive lower-left, which makes moving directly down or directly left very difficult. Because of the bad D-pad, Legend of Zelda becomes extraordinarily frustrating with this controller. Maybe I just got a bad unit, I don’t know. I’m not going to bother returning mine, since it was so cheap. Maybe I can modify it to perform better… Your best bet is to get a NES to USB converter and use an official controller. |
