This review is from: Four Great Games (DVD-ROM) If you are a fan of IHOG’s (Interactive Hidden Object Games) or “Adventure Lite” games, and haven’t played any of these games yet, this collection is a great buy at .99 for all four games. The four games are: Empress of the Deep Check the Gamezebo website for reviews and user reviews of the individual games. One advantage of this collection is that you don’t need to put the DVD in your computer’s DVD drive every time you play. You only need the DVD to install the games and then you can put it away. The disadvantage of this collection is that you don’t get to choose which of the four games you want to install. The installer automatically installs all four. At least that’s what it does on a Windows computer. We haven’t tested it on a Mac. We’ve played the games in this collection in Windows XP SP3 and in 32-bit Vista. We don’t know how well the versions included in this collection work with Windows 7 or on a Mac. According to the back of the case you need: OS: Windows 2000/XP/Vista And for a Mac they list: OS: Mac OSX but I think these requirements are bogus — especially the ones for the Mac. I contacted both companies on the package and the both confirmed it is NOT LINUX compatible. Upon notifying Amazon about this issue, the response I received was a total lie. They stated they looked into it and it was Linux compatible. This tells me they did not look into it at all. I finally got used to playing them and do enjoy theme now but would love to still see more of the ‘click and point’ games come back into favor. This game took awhile to arrive but did so in great shape and played very well on my Win7. The set up was a little strange to me with all these multiple-game packs but finally figured out what was what and had a great time playing. |
