For the price, it is great. The only issue I have with this product is that it really limits all other sound from penetrating.. Most importantly the game sounds! So I can hear everyone talking and that’s great, but I likely won’t hear the guy coming up behind me to end my kill-streak! All in all, speedy delivery and great quality/price!

Speaking as someone who has both Indiana Jones Lego Games, the Star Wars Lego with all 6 films, plus the Star Wars Clone Wars Lego, and Harry Potter Lego, this game was definitely a bit disappointing. First of all, the graphics are not as high of quality as the other games, especially in the little clips between each level. They’re blurry and pixelated, which is not at all up to standards.

The concept of the game is about the same as the others. Go through each level collecting the various items, knuts, etc. in order to get to 100% and purchase characters and red legos. The levels are actually a lot shorter than in the other games, and hardly seem to take up any time at all. This is a bit disappointing, and yes, makes it easier to save the game if you have to do something else, but the other ones have much longer levels, especially since there are only 4 levels per movie in this game.

Another huge disappointment had to be the lack of minigames. Most of the lego games have mini games you can play outside of the levels, and so far I have yet to discover any of them. This is a huge disappointment to me because I actually love the mini games. It’s like you get two games for the price of one because you can play the main levels and then play smaller games too. As far as I can tell, this game has none, which is hugely disappointing.

I think this game could have been amazing, but instead they rushed to put something together with the new movie coming out, and yes, the new movie is included in the game as well. If you like the other lego games, you will probably like this one, at least to play and have something decent to do. In my opinion, Harry Potter lego is still the best because the graphics are decent, you use the stylus to conduct spells, and in this one, you don’t even need the stylus at all, kind of defeating the whole purpose of it being a Nintendo DS game.

My son is almost 5 years old and i primarily bought this game for him. He has several other DS games, but only the Lego is the Star Wars version. The Star Wars game was much easier for him to play and figure out on his own without much help. The game play was more intuitive, as you see a ‘locked’ door with a picture of the character that you need to be to open it.

My son initially found this game much more difficult to play. It is my fault i admit, i didnt notice the E for everyone rating with the 10+. Anyway, after the first week he wasn’t much interested in it. But after i showed him a bit of the game play ( i love the game myself ) he is playing it well. He still occasionally needs help when he is stuck with one of the puzzles or cant figure out what to do next, but overall he loves it.

As for the comments about the blurry graphics in the cut scenes they are correct. Its not a reason to avoid the game, but is a bit disappointing. They could have definitely done better in this area.

I bought this a few weeks ago and was SUPER excited. two of my faves coming into one: Lego video games + Pirates of the Caribbean= EPICNESS. That’s what I was thinking. Here are some pros and cons of this game:

Pros:
quirky Lego animations
movie accurate characters
the Capt. Jack sparrow mimfig. is HILARIOUS (he’s got swag!)
the great pirates score

Cons:
clips in between scenes are super blurry and pixelated
there is a black line around the characters during game play
when playing a level there is no following character
the levels are short and there is only 16 of them
it is was too easy (I have Lego StarWars 1-6 and Lego Indy 1-3)
no minigames
no gold bricks
at “port” you can’t switch between characters like you can at Mos Eisley cantina or the university
the red brick, ships in bottles ect. are poorly hidden and way too easy to find

this is a pretty good game, but still kinda lame. I really wanted to love this game, but that is not possible.
